Common Monster Minis: Goblin!

common monster minis gifI have had this little guy in my stash of minis for a month or so. He was the first I finished outside of the ones designed for campaigns that we already played. I have actually already printed and cut... maybe 6 of them. They are quite cute to me, though I received a chuckle and a comment on how scary they looked from my group member who also DMs.

So the most common monster I can think of would be the Feral Goblin. Now, some players play as goblins using the builds in Volo's Guide to Monsters and that's super cool, but I believe player characters deserve some customization. So if you play a Goblin PC, I would definitely suggest a specialized mini to highlight what makes your goblin different that its feral counterparts. (There are some awesome goblin player character building tips and info here by Geek and Sundry, and some homebrew race variants from the D&D Wiki. Just putting it out there for anyone who is interested.)

So here it is!

Look at this tiny guy! I based the goblins in my banner and footer image off this guy's design.
I will also include some pictures of them after I printed them and cut them out.

So I printed them out on card stock after pasting them into PowerPoint using copy-merge from Photoshop. I put a border around the picture, then print, line up the fronts and backs, paste, and cut!

Unfortunately these guys didn't print their details well (mainly all the work I did on their hair...) Mostly because I didn't adjust the contrast in PowerPoint I think. If any one has any tips for printing with greater detail clarity, I am definitely up for amending my process!

They are quite cute. I also made mini stands that day by gluing paper clips to laminated discs of different sizes for different sized monsters (small/medium/1 inch, large/2 inch, and huge/3 inch). I wish I had gotten pics of them in the stands! Unfortunately they are packed away right now so I am being lazy and not grabbing them to take a picture now.

Now I will also include the stat block for reference. It is present in the (free) Dungeon Master's Basic Rules guide I believe as well as the Monster Manual and... actually a lot of publications. You can also find this information on roll20 as well as various D&D Wikis.
Goblin Stat Block
Once again, I don't own the information in this Stat Block; it's just here for reference.

So here I am! After the first post in the common monsters category, I am not sure which one to do next! If you have a suggestion, leave me a comment! FYI Humanoid monsters take me less time than animal-type monsters due to easier anatomy.

If you would like to see my other work on the monsters in the Monster Manual, my first post in the Monster Manual from A to Z is here.

Cheers all! Be kind and lovely to one another~
